ClaySpaceTC is a community ceramics studio in Traverse City offering classes, workshops, and private lessons for both kids and adults. Founded in 2019 by educators and artists Phil Wilson and Clay Maas, the studio grew from a shared vision of creating an inclusive, student-driven space for hands-on learning and artistic exploration.

Equipped with pottery wheels, handbuilding areas, and a Skutt electric kiln, ClaySpaceTC provides the tools and support for students of all levels to design and create their own ceramics. Instruction is collaborative and flexible, empowering students to pursue their own ideas while learning foundational and advanced techniques.

In addition to in-studio offerings, ClaySpaceTC hosts mobile workshops in local gathering spaces, making clay accessible to the broader community. Whether you’re new to pottery or a seasoned ceramicist, you’ll find a welcoming, creative environment where big ideas and bold creations come to life.
